The British Virgin Islands Ports Authority is seeking mature, and highly motivated persons to join our Team in the following position:
CASHIER (TORTOLA)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Three (3) years’ experience in a similar or related field.
High School Diploma or its equivalent.
MUST be numerate or have experience in accounting.
MUST be computer literate.
MUST be a holder of a valid driver’s license.
Job Description:
Collects all revenue of the Authority.
Issues receipts for revenue collected.
Prepares daily deposits of all revenue collected.
Scrutinizes all documents submitted to authorize receipts and ensures that they confirm with Tariff.
Examine documents submitted to authorize payment.
Balances cash and receipt book.
Prepares daily reports for cash collected.
Perform any other relevant job-related duties as may be assigned.

Technical:
1.Cash Handling & Reconciliation - Accurately collect, count, verify, and report revenues using approved procedures.
2.Financial Systems Proficiency - Operate point-of-sale systems and digital tools for recording, scanning, and depositing transactions.
3.Record Management - Maintain organized and compliant digital and physical documentation for audit and retrieval.

1.Attention to Detail - Spot and correct discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
2.Reliability & Punctuality - Consistently meet deadlines, cover assigned shifts (including travel) and follow protocols.

4.Team Support & Adaptability - Willingly assist colleagues, adjust to operational needs, and perform ad hoc tasks as required.
Salary:
Remuneration/ Benefits: Based on qualifications and experience.
