VACANCY NOTICE 7/2024
The British Virgin Islands Ports Authority is seeking a mature, and highly motivated person to join our Team in the following position:
MESSENGER
QUALIFICATIONS:
MUST have a High School Certificate or its equivalent
MUST have three (3) years’ experience in a similar or related field.
MUST be computer literate.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
MUST be trustworthy and reliable.
MUST be a holder of a valid driver’s license.
MUST be (25) Twenty-Five years or older.
Main Responsibilities:
- Delivers and collects mail from the Post Office, other mail services, and the Government Complex at 10am and again at 3pm each day.
- Delivers and collects mail when required to and from Board Members.
- Delivers and collects mail from businesses and other locations that may require personalized (by hand) service.
- Delivers and collects the mail bag from the Ferry Service and other items, as approved by the Administration Department.
- Assists with the pickup/return of small items from suppliers, ordered through the purchase order system.
- Assists with receiving deliveries, verifying items against printed order, checking quantity and description, and reporting shortages, damages, or other discrepancies.
- Assist with binding and the general presentation of documents.
- Any other related duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.
Salary:
Remuneration/ Benefits: Based on qualifications and experience.
